Autumn is my favourite season!

The Ber months are here – September, October, November, December, and as far as I’m concerned this is the beginning of autumn. I like autumn and spring but don’t enjoy the cold weather or the hot. Unfortunately, I didn’t shake off Covid in the expected two or three weeks and after nine weeks – almost 10 – it’s still lingering on. The worst of the symptoms have gone but I’m left with fatigue and headaches so I suppose it could be a lot worse.

Life is so grim at the moment I don’t watch the news. Farcical election for the new Prime Minister taking place here will be over by next Monday. It’s quite ridiculous that a hundred and sixty thousand Conservative party members – mostly white and elderly – will be voting for the person expected to lead our country time of national crisis on several fronts. In my opinion there should be a general election as soon as the new leader of the Conservative party has appointed. Boris Johnson the disgrace but at least he had a mandate from the population neither of these people do.

I’m just about to finish my fifth book for the fabulous Boldwood and it should be handed in by the end of next week. The fourth book – Land Girls at Goodwill House– Is now on preorder and is doing really well. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am that this series has proved so popular. I should have a three week break before I need to start the next book and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to the freedom. I don’t suppose I’ll be able to stay away from writing for the full three weeks but at least I have the choice if I want to.

I’m having my garden redesigned – the dead lawn is being removed and I’m having a sustainable, environmentally friendly, drought resistant garden put in its place. The designer has been more semi her plans in due course and then the landscapers should come in November to do it.

My very last indie published book, , will be coming out on 6 September. I loved writing sixty or so books set in this area but I just don’t have the time now I’m writing four books a year for my publisher.
