March is a good month.
Posted on 1st March, 2023
Today is the first day of spring. March is a favourite month of mine as it’s when daffodils are in full flower. It’s light from six in the morning until six at night. This year it’s the golden wedding anniversary of my brother and his wife – well, obviously it would be his wife – on the tenth and the RNA awards do in London on the sixth. I’m going to both.
Today my fifth book for Boldwood – A Wartime Reunion at Goodwill House – is published. It’s been four months since my last book came out which is a month longer than it should be. Also the marketing director decided to experiment with the price, making it considerably higher than usual, and that is proved to be unsuccessful. The price will go down in a few months and next book will be at the usual price. Wedding Bells at Goodwill House is be on preorder now and the cover is almost ready too. This will be released on 23 May so not so long to wait between books next time. The Land Girls at Goodwill House has just had a BookBub promotion and was at a hundred and fifty-seven and with a lovely orange flag when I just looked. Duty Calls at Goodwill House is on a month-long promotion on Amazon in the UK and Australia. What a lot of good bookish news!
My new gravel garden is just showing signs of life and I’m so looking forward to seeing all the plants coming up. It looks so pretty with the solar powered fairy lights and ground lights that I’ve put in. I’ve got a few daffodils out in my raised beds and the tulips are showing also. My neighbour is kindly mowing my little bit of front lawn so I don’t miss not having a mower of my own. I will have four hanging baskets and five pots at the front but only two with tomatoes at the back. It will be so much easier to take care of and after the first year I shouldn’t have to water it at all.
I’m seeing a new accountant today to get myself turned into a limited company – it seems that’s the sensible way to go. I can’t wait to hand over all the financial stuff to him and then I can forget about it and concentrate on my writing.
One other good thing about March is that the clocks go forward at the end of the month the long dark winter nights will be over.
Best wishes
