How time flies!

Posted on 2nd November, 2022

I’m thrilled that my fourth book for the fabulous Boldwood is now live. The Land Girls of Goodwill House came out today, 2nd November, and is being well received so far. It is on a blog tour as well. Boldwood and their team are so good at this marketing and promoting malarkey. My books wouldn’t do so well if they weren’t. They are also wonderful to work for and I’m so glad I joined them in 2021.

I think there are over one hundred books of mine on Amazon and this hardly seems possible. I started writing in 2004, first two books published in 2005, and so much has happened in the intervening years. My beloved husband, Dusty, died from Covid almost two years ago, My daughter and her family emigrated to California five years ago and we are now estranged. I think of her everyday and pray one day she will want to be part of our lives again. I now have a wonderful nine year old grandson am so close to my son and his wife. I have also moved twice.

Now I am a best selling writer and just wish this had happened when I was younger and had more time to enjoy it.  The world is a dangerous place, the UK is being run by far-right anti-democracy politicians and catastrophic climate changes are happening all over the world. The longest serving monarch in the world died and things won’t be the same ever again.

On a more positive note I am about to have my little back garden transformed into a Beth Chatto inspired gravel garden. It will be drought resistant, environmentally friendly and wild life attracting and I can’t wait to see it done.   Planting trees, building a garden from scratch,  is an act of faith in the future. There will be photographs so be warned!

The dark haired photo is me when I started, the other me today.
